Facebook Integration

Facebook Integration has been available in XenForo for some time. But in case you are unfamiliar, follow these instructions to set up Facebook Integration so that your users can sign up or log in with Facebook:

  1. You need a Facebook account for this. Whether you use your personal account or some other account specifically for this process does not matter. The details of the account will not be seen by your users.
  2. Go to the Facebook Developer Apps page and click "Apps" in the top menu followed by "Create a new app".
  3. Provide a "Display Name" and "Choose a category" and click "Create app".
  4. After a few seconds, your App dashboard will open. Make a note of the App ID and App secret.
  5. Go to "Settings" and click "Add Platform". Select "Website" from the list.
  6. Provide the "Site URL".
  7. Under "Status & Review" switch the slider to "Yes" to "make this app and all its live features available to the general public"
  8. Go back to your Admin CP and input your Application ID and Application Secret (from Step 4).
  9. Test. Login / Sign up with Facebook should now be working.
